I recently sailed on the Carnival Victory for 4 nights to Key West and Cozumel.  Here is a bit of what to expect on this ship!

First, I will say Carnival has its boarding process down cold.  They give you a ticket and the tickets are called in a way that gets you on the ship smoothly and in a organized fashion.  Its pretty nice, same goes for disembark.  I walked off so easily, it didn't seem real!

The first thing I noticed about this ship, is it is aged.  You can tell, especially as an experienced cruiser, this ship is old.  It wasn't dirty, however, it is dated.  The rooms have been refurbished, and looked fine, but my inside room was nothing special.  A standard inside room.

The second thing I noticed is how far the staff went to please the guests.  It was a real joy to interact with most if not all of the staff.  The casino servers were amazing and fun to talk to and joke with.  I really found their service top notch!

I tried to eat in the main dining room each night, which was really good.  I enjoyed everything I ordered.  The buffet, not so much.  The lines and the small selection made the buffet a no go zone for me.  Of course, you can't go wrong with Guy's or Iguana for lunch.

The main downside to this ship were lines.  I feel like everywhere I went, lines were accumulating.  At dinner, I had to wait about 15 minutes, the buffet, more like 25.  The shore excursions desk was line central, as well as guest services.  Try and book all of your stuff in advance, that way you wont have to spend much, if any time, in line!

I would certainly sail on the Victory again.  It has a nice feel for a short cruise and I had a lot of fun.  If you are an experienced cruiser and you want a short getaway for a good price, this could be the way to go, however, you my have to look past some of the shortcomings of say a newer ship or a bigger ship.
